I’m kind of tired of hearing how awful 2020 was and how ready everyone is for it to be over.
Especially because—who knows what 2021 has in store?
So many people act like when midnight hits and the calendar switches over to a new year, all the problems of the previous year vanish.
I don’t know what magical world they live in, but from my experience, nothing changes unless we choose to change it.
While there were certainly parts of 2020 I wish didn’t happen, there are so many positive things which happened. How can we deem an entire year awful when there were sparks of hope and joy scattered?
As we enter 2021, remember that you are in charge of your own positivity. You are in charge of your outlook on the world. Instead of cursing 2020, seek out the goodness you may have experienced, even if it was momentary.
Here’s to the past, that we may learn from it, and the future, that we may enter it seeking the good and clinging to it.
Happy New Year!
