It’s the first day of fall!!!
I’ve been looking forward to this day for…well, all year long.
Admit it. This is how you feel on the first day of fall, too.
Though summer brings about a needed relief from the bitter cold of winter, fall always is the season I want to press ‘pause’ on and stay in indefinitely.
It may possibly be a combination of hating how my thighs look in shorts and despising the added layer of a heavy winter coat. In fall, you don’t have to worry about either of those things. It’s denim weather. It’s light jacket weather. It’s time for hoodies and scarves. And boots. Heeled boots. Cozy boots. Boots. Boots. Boots!
All the wonderful things in the world of fashion come to life in the fall!
And sure, I know you’re thinking, ‘Well, what about spring?’
Yeah? What about it? Spring is when all those extra allergens decide to come out causing me to sneeze and itch. So, no, no thank you. I’ll take fall.
Plus, let’s not forget about the fall flavors. We’ll all be sick of pumpkin by the time New Year’s rolls around, but in the meantime, it’s everything I want in life. I’ve already been nibbling on pumpkin muffins and making all attempts to change ordinary recipes like cinnamon rolls and croissants to include pumpkin.* I’ve also already started putting together my Thanksgiving breakfast menu.
*Can you say, yum?
Let’s not forget the fall colors. Can my life be painted in fall colors? Please??
I’m especially eager to see what golf is like in the fall. Last year, we ended the season early because of vacations, work trips, and life. This year, we’re going to try to make it last as long as possible.*
*Playing in the cold has to beat playing on a 98 degree day with high humidity, right?
Even better, and number one on my list of ‘Why Fall is Awesome’, fall starts the holiday season. No matter what bad may be going on in my small world or the larger world around, something about the holidays brings about a lightheartedness that warms the spirit and makes the future seem bright.
Are you as thrilled as I am about the Fall? If not, what’s your favorite season, and why?
