I didn’t see Miracle on 34th Street (the original) until I was an adult.* There’s a quote from the movie one of the Christmas stations in our area plays between songs. It is the essence of the movie and the standard from which I draw my enthusiasm for Christmas, even during the times of year it seems not so seasonal.
*Unacceptable, I know.
“Oh, Christmas isn’t just a day, it’s a frame of mind… and that’s what’s been changing. That’s why I’m glad I’m here, maybe I can do something about it.”
Listen to Christmas music. You’ll find this theme continues throughout. There is something to the warm and fuzziness which Christmas brings; to the family centered atmosphere where the rest of the world is put on pause and all which matters are the most important things, the things we take for granted, but the things we love most of all.
This year, make Christmas more than just a day.
Make it your frame of mind.
Merry Christmas! From our family to yours.
