Normally, I get this post out asap in the new year. But, like I said, it just wasn’t happening for me a few months ago. I didn’t even post my goals for this year! Go here to see last year’s goals.
In January 2021, I made a goal to read 50 books—and I was cutting it close, so very, very close with getting my 50th read in.*
*In other words, I finished my 50th book on New Year’s Eve. My NYE was so dull, somehow, I also managed to squeeze in finishing another, bringing my grand total to 51.
Instead of listing them ALL like I have in years past, I’m going to give you the highlights, some composed by the algorithms Goodreads uses and chugs out, and others based on the feels I get when I read over my list.
Most popular book (according to Goodreads) read: To Kill a Mockingbird
Favorite Middle Grade Book* read: Fortunately, The Milk by Neil Gaiman
*In fairness, this was technically my only Middle Grade book read if you don’t count The Subtle Knife. But this one was fun and zany, something kids need!
Favorite Historical Fiction* book read: Burial Rites by Hannah Kent
*It isn’t often I read historical fiction and this was one I truly enjoyed.
