The more time I spend in Cape May, the more I am certain I belong there. Or, at least, somewhere oceanside*.
*After I spend a weekend in Vermont, ask me how much I feel like I belong mountainside.
Whenever I walk around Cape May, I discover something new, but this one I’ve been holding out on sharing with you for a while.
Not because I didn’t want to share the love.
But because it’s one of those things that not everyone loves which then makes me bummed out when I get this response: “Oh, I don’t like peanut butter.”
Not like peanut butter?
Whaaa? Howw?
Listen, I grew up begrudgingly eating peanut butter and jelly for lunch every single day of my school* life and yet, peanut butter still calls to me.
*I wish I could say that falls only under elementary.
Cape May Peanut Butter Company has a little shop on Carpenters Lane—close to Peace Pie. During COVID times, there is sometimes a line outside, but the inside shopping is so much tamer because of it. In the past, I’ve gone inside to a sardine can of peanut butter lovers taste testing all the different flavors. Now, only four people are allowed in at a time, allowing for plenty of social distancing and freedom to consider your purchase*.
*Sadly, taste testing the nut butters is not currently being done.
Everything is centered around that beautiful American classic. There are nine nut butter flavors to choose from*, various jams, premade treats—including peanut butter cannoli—at the counter, nuts, dog treats, and more!
*My favorite = Butterscotch
And, if you haven’t finished your Christmas shopping and don’t feel like driving all the way to Cape May, they ship within the continental United States for a flat rate of $9!
Don’t forget, my favorite flavor is B-U-T-T-E-R-S-C-O-T-C-H.
