Once upon a time I commented to Hubby that breakfast was my favorite meal of the day.
The response was not at all what I expected.
There was a snort and an eyeroll and then a demand for an explanation.
When I attempted to defend the beauty of breakfast, coming against a claim he made that breakfast had limited options, he attacked eggs.
Yes, attacked them.
I suppose I started it, by noting that the category of eggs alone provided dozens of different possibilities for breakfast.
Because then he said, in his most definitive know-it-all tone, “There are only four ways to cook eggs.”
So, I put on my boxing gloves and we have been fighting over this subject ever since.
Without getting into the nonsense of “there are only four ways to cook eggs” today I’m going to share with you a few lovely breakfast meals I had in the months of August and September because: 1) breakfast is still my favorite meal of the day 2) it is visual proof that breakfast is certainly not limited and 3) it will inspire me to continue my quest to find breakfast places serving up not-so-ordinary breakfasts*.
*This was ultimately how our debate ended—with a challenge from Hubby for me to find amazing breakfast places to visit.
Challenge accepted.
