One of the most popular tourist destinations in the Bahamas is Atlantis. Our last minute cruise gave us the opportunity to check out the resort without having to plan an entire trip there.
But after only a few hours, I knew for certain it was a place worth returning to.
We went specifically for the Marine Habitat, the resort’s aquariums*, however, the temptation to go to the water park was hard to resist.
The resort is like a village. It’s so massive, getting lost isn’t hard to do.**
*Yes, plural.
**For me, at least.
While walking along the pathway between the aquariums, we passed several of the resort’s twenty* different pools.
*Twenty! Twenty! That’s 2-0! Can you imagine??
Of the underwater creatures we saw, the stingray lagoon was my absolute favorite:
I could have stayed there and watched the stingrays swim all day long.
But there was more to see!
I know he was behind a glass tank, but I was still very afraid of this guy.
In the Predator Tunnel
Lance made me take an extremely corny, very embarrassing picture in my most Indiana Jones-like pose on the bouncy bridge.
You’re welcome.
This is my favorite part of the water park I didn’t go to…
And here, again, were my least favorite creatures that we continued to run into…
Whew, that’s better.
In all the aquariums we have visited, I cannot remember ever having seen moray eels.
I was equally intrigued and scared to death of them.
